Mission Statement

Expose student leaders to local government operations and the power of civic engagement with the purpose of equipping participants with the knowledge of how to impact community development as political or civic decision leaders able and willing to accept the responsibility of servant community leaders.

GAME On’s goal is to expose and educate young adults on the importance of being actively involved in their local government and the leadership opportunities available in the public sector. GAME On civic program includes a leadership and development accountability element designed to deter adverse behaviors challenging the youth of today. GAME On’s objectives include preparing leaders ready to lead.

  1. Conduct leadership and development training programs
  2. Define and complete community projects
  3. Complete Poll Clerk training
  4. Complete State Pagers’ applications
  5. Establish a voter registration campaign
  6. Write a bill and have it sponsored in the GA Legislation
  7. Meet local and state government officials
  8. Present before the Board of Commissioners
  9. Present before the Board of Education
  10. Attend election debates and ask questions
  11. Visit the capital during the legislative session
  12. Build a social media platform about the experience
  13. Conduct fundraising activities
  14. Define community and business sponsors
  15. Attend the ACCG (Association of County Commissioners)

The GAME On Program is investing in students who will exemplify the next level

of defined 360 leadership skills. After completing several leadership training sessions, student leaders will rise to independent community servants able to assess and be deceive decision-makers. Students will be exposed to a number of community leaders and will complete assigned community projects.

Community Engagement

Students will engage in community projects. Community engagement provides opportunities

for citizens to be aware and able to contribute to decisions that directly impact their lives. Students will use their hands and voices to make an impact in their community.

Government And Me Engaged/On (G.A.M.E./ON) was created by Commissioner Vivian Thomas to address the need for increased civic involvement and political awareness among Georgia’s youth.
